INFORMATION
Course Rating: All courses which are members of WMSGA must be rated. Course must be at least 3,000 yards in length (for 18 holes) in order to be rated. Please indicate on enclosed Club Application if course needs 1st rating or rerating.
REPRESENTATIVE: Each member club shall appoint a Club Representative to WMSGA. Ideally the rep should be a club member who is a member of WMSGA. If a club has only one member of WMSGA, she will act as representative. If this is not possible, a club owner or manager may act as club representative.
CLUB MEMBERS: Any woman or junior girl who is a member of your club and who has an established USGA handicap index may apply for membership and play in weekly tournaments as well as apply for special tournaments, subject to eligibility requirements of those particular tournaments.
TOURNAMENTS: Each member club, unless dropped for that year, by rotation, shall be willing to host a tournament once each season. The WMSGA Tournament Schedule shall be determined by the Tournament Co-Chairwomen and officers, subject to final approval by the WMSGA Executive Board.
♦ The host course will work in conjunction with the WMSGA Tournament Chairwoman and Administrative Assistant in organizing and
conducting the tournament.
♦ All 18-hole courses of championship caliber shall be expected, but not obligated to host the State Championship on a rotational basis.
The course holding the Championship shall have the privilege of hosting the Metropolitan within two years.
♦ Host courses are expected to charge no more than one-half cart fee per person, even though it may not always be possible to place two people
in every cart. In lieu of this, if the host club has incurred an expense in obtaining extra carts, WMSGA will collect fees and then reimburse
clubs for carts cancelled after 6 p.m. on the Sunday preceding the Tuesday tournament or for entrants who do not show up for the tournament...
ADDITIONAL TOURNAMENT INFORMATION:

Green Fees for a WMSGA Tournament are $15.00 per person.

Tournament Entry fee is $8.00

State Championship require expenditure of prizes at the host club.

Winners of regular weekly tournaments will receive vouchers that can be redeemed only at WMSGA Member Clubs.

Tournament setup and scoring will be done by WMSGA
WMSGA supports the MSGA Scholarship Fund and the Maine Golf Hall of Fame
WMSGA is committed to promoting interest in the game of golf for women and has a special interest in promoting and supporting junior girls’ golf in the
State of Maine.
COSTS: Annual CLUB MEMBERSHIP to WMSGA is $50.00.
Annual INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP to WMSGA is $35.00
After receipt of your application and membership fee, you will receive a certificate of membership. The person you designate as your representative will receive information to help her get started and answer most of her questions.
